TRAVEL & ACCOMODATION
The conference will be held in the picturesque coastal town of Piran in Slovenia. The town is a popular tourist destination for local and international travellers who enjoy the small cobblestone streets, seafood cuisine, and a splash in the clear waters of the Adriatic Sea.
Fun fact: The coastal area of Slovenia is officially bilingual (Slovenian and Italian). “Ciao!” is a very common greeting.
TRAVEL TO PIRAN, SLOVENIA
The easiest and most affordable way to get to Piran is by public transportation from the largest closest city, Koper. Direct buses from Ljubljana are also an option. Direct and affordable private transfers from major airports to Piran can be arranged through GoOpti.

TRANSPORT FROM/TO THE AIRPORT
Several international airports serve the region, including Ljubljana (Slo), Trieste (Ita), Venice (Ita) and Treviso (Ita).
Approximate travel times:
- Ljubljana Airport (LJU), Slovenia: Approximately 1.5–2 hours by car or shuttle to Piran. Public transport usually requires travelling via Ljubljana city centre or Koper and takes longer.
- Trieste Airport (TRS), Italy: Approximately 1–1.5 hours by car or shuttle. By public transport, travel via Trieste and Koper, allowing additional time for connections.
- Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE), Italy: Approximately 2–2.5 hours by car or shuttle.
- Treviso Airport (TSF), Italy: Approximately 2.5–3 hours by car or shuttle.

ACCOMMODATION IN PIRAN
The conference will take place at the 5-star Grand Hotel Bernardin, part of the Sava Hotels & Resorts coastal hotel complex. Special accommodation rates are available for conference participants at selected 3-star, 4-star and 5-star hotels within the complex.

Special rates are available for stays between 17 and 26 April 2027. If you wish to extend your stay beyond these dates, please contact booking@sava.si. The reservations team will be happy to assist you with extending your booking manually.
There are numerous additional hotels, rental houses, bed & breakfasts, hostels, and AirBnBs within walking distance to the venue in both Piran and Portorož areas.
